What Customers Say About LeapFrog® Explorer Smart Globe:

Don't waste your money on this poorly manufactured product. No problem though as the pen fell off the next day anyway. Within the first 10 minutes the globe split into half. Realignment was a challenge - you can imagine how accurate the selection is when the equator is off by 1/32".
These globes are very good if they work. I would look at the Oregon Scientific model even for a child. The 4 new globes came defective and all needed replacement batteries. Leap Frog has stopped making them and I wonder why. This globe is a waist of $ based on quality. One globe worked for almost 30 days. when we went to return it to Amazon we were charged a 20% restocking fee.
The stylus worked about 80% of the time the first day, about 40% the second day and it did not work at all the third day. Basically it didn't work.
Now, I can follow the news, find the location, and information about the country. I was horrible in geography, and when the news would come on about different countries, I could never picture where it was happening. I even used it to help my granddaughter with a geography question, I just pulled out the globe and we spent half an hour learning together. This globe was not purchased for a child, it was given to an older adult. I have always been fascinated with globes, so when it went on super sale at Amazon, my daughter purchased it for me for Christmas.
Right now he just touches a continent and then repeats what the globe tells him. This was a gift for my 4 year old. We love it. He is learning the continents at school as well so this is the perfect home "lesson" to help out at school too.I would reccomend this to anyone. When asked what he wanted for his birthday, he replied a globe. He has played with this over and over and since it is so interactive, it can be used for years to come.
